Caregiver Support Groups
Virtual Support Groups for Caregivers of People with Chronic Health Conditions
Enrollment for the Winter ‘26 groups is open!
Fill out the interest form here.
WHO: This group is open to anyone 18+ who supports someone with chronic health conditions. It's important to me to recognize that there's not always a binary between caregiving and receiving care- and that many caregivers may also be dealing with their own health issues.
Each group will need at least 6 people to run and will not exceed 12 people. This will be an inclusive and affirming space.
This group is facilitated by board-certified art therapist and licensed mental health counselor Dr. Lauren Leone.
WHAT: This group is intended to give caregivers a space to connect with each other through discussing the full range of experiences caregiving can bring, which can often go unspoken and even unseen. Participants will have time to focus on their own self-care and reduce the isolation that can result from caregiving through validation, belonging, offering and receiving emotional support.
Themes may include: how caregiving impacts a range of relationships, identity, and work; caregiver burnout; making room for self-care amidst caregiving; navigating healthcare systems; asking for, accepting, and refusing help; and the emotional impacts of caregiving.
WHERE/WHEN: This is a virtual group that will meet online (Zoom), usually on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 12:00-1:00pm ET. Dates for the Winter/Spring 2026 groups have not been determined yet.
COST/COMMITMENT:
$40/group meeting
To increase accessibility to this group, I also have a limited number of Sliding Scale/Supported Access spots. This is a discounted rate, for those with currently limited financial resources who struggle to meet basic needs. This means that you would not be able to pay your rent, buy food, pay for transportation etc. if you were paying the standing access rate. Please reach out to me if you'd like to discuss joining at this rate.
And in a rebalancing effort there’s also a Pay It Forward Access fee (anything above $40/group meeting). This is the actual cost of the group plus some, for those with more than enough financial resources to meet their basic needs, and who would like to support fellow community members and provide a cushion for those with less access to pay less.
*Although the aim of the group is therapeutic, it is NOT mental health treatment or a replacement for it.
